Learn the basics in our Flex 6 Lacrosse format. No equipment needed. Clinics are for beginners with little to no experience.

We have some wonderful coaches teaching our players this fabulous game. For us to grow this game and offer more children the opportunity to play, we need YOU. If you like to coach kids but just don’t know enough about Lacrosse, we have a clinic opportunity just for you.

Boys and Girls Recreational Lacrosse

Recreational Lacrosse (Flex 6)

The Y-Lacrosse Recreational Flex 6 program is for boys and girls ages 5 – 10 to learn the game of lacrosse and to develop stick skills necessary for the tradtional game. It is an affordable, inclusive, non-travel fun version of lacrosse that reinforces those skills in a mini-league format. Flex 6 Lacrosse is a 1 hour session 1 night per week.

Spring Season Schedule (Flex 6)

The season runs from April 17th – May 25th
Mondays (Riverdale)  6:00 – 7:00 PM
Tuesdays (Riverdale) 6:00 – 7:00 PM
Thursdays (Sanford Crossing) 6:00 – 7:00 PM

Recreational Traditional Boys & Girls

The Traditional Game begins at the U10 level and older  (U10 players that have already done Flex 6 may play up to U12) and they will learn and play the traditional versions of Boys Lacrosse and Girls Lacrosse. We use traditional equipment, and your player will need a mouthpiece. Traditional meets twice/week for 1 hour.

The season runs from April 17th – May 25th
Mondays and Thursdays (Sanford Crossing)
7:00 – 8:00 PM

Equipment for Rec Lacrosse

  • Traditional Boys Lacrosse uses a Lacrosse Helmet, Shoulder pads, Elbow pads, Gloves, Cleats (optional), and a Stick. You will have the option to check out this equipment. You will need a cup and mouthguard for your personal items. 
  • Traditional Girls Lacrosse uses Eye Goggles and a stick. You will have the option to check out this equipment. You will need a mouthguard for your personal item.
  • Flex 6 will have sticks available to use at your session.
  • All levels should bring water bottles for hydration breaks.

SPARK Boys Travel Lacrosse

Our Boys Travel teams will compete in the NELAX league with teams from Nebraska and Iowa. The season will run from March through May.

Boys Travel Team Equipment:

In boy’s lacrosse, while body checking is allowed at the 14U age and older, incidental contact is present at all ages. Here are the equipment options your player will need for boy’s lacrosse. Please note that younger ages and some programming may alter this list.

  • Helmet

  • Elbow pads/arm guards
  • Gloves
  • Mouthguard
  • Cup
  • Cleats
  • Stick

SPARK Girls Travel Lacrosse

We intend to field (based on registration) 2 Girls Travel teams covering the following ages (U12-U14) and (U14-JV High school). We will need to determine placement based on registration numbers and U12 and U14 may be combined into U14 or U14 and High School into JV High School. Prior to registering please email lacrosse@siouxfallsymca.org to express your interest to play. When we have enough players to participate we will let you know so you can get your USALacrosse memberships activated.

Girls Travel Team Equipment:

Girl’s lacrosse is the same sport but an entirely different game from boy’s lacrosse. The field dimensions are different, the balls are different, the rules are different, and the equipment is different from the boy’s game. The only thing that is the same is the goal. Below is a description of the equipment needed for girl’s lacrosse.

  • Mouthguard

Goalies have additional required equipment which can be provided Sioux Falls Lacrosse.
