Want to Try Lacrosse (TryLax) before registering for the coming recreational or competitive lacrosse season?

We have FREE Traditional Lacrosse Clinics for U12 through High School age introducing you to both Boys Lacrosse and Girls Lacrosse. We have FREE TryLax clinics for U6 – U10 levels. No equipment needed! Clinics are for beginners who have little to no experience with the game, and others with athletic experiences seeking out a Spring sport. . The clinics are hosted by the coaches of Sioux Falls YMCA Lacrosse. Come try it out. FREE OF CHARGE!

Recreational Y-Lacrosse

The Y-Lacrosse Recreational program is for boys and girls ages 5+ to learn the game of lacrosse. We have different versions based on age.
Our U6 – U10 players start with the Flex 6 format that is an affordable, inclusive, non-travel fun version of lacrosse that help teach skills in a mini-league format.
Flex 6 Lacrosse is 1 night per week. It is offered on Mondays and Tuesdays at Riverdale Park and Thursdays at Sanford Crossing.

Our U12 and U14 levels (U10 players that have already done Flex 6 may play up to U12) play traditional Boys Lacrosse and Girls Lacrosse. It uses the traditional equipment, and your player will need to supply their own mouthpiece. Teams will practice two nights a week at Sanford Crossing.

League Dates: U6 - U10 (Flex 6 format)

The Spring Flex 6 season will be for ages U6 – U10 and will run from April 17th to May 25th. We are currently offering Monday nights (6:00-7:00PM), and Tuesday nights (6:00 – 7:00) at Riverdale and Thursday nights at Sanford Crossing.

Field Location

Location will vary based on the season and ability to get outdoors. Please check registration information for the TryLax location.
*Limited equipment required. Each player will receive a reversible jersey with their registration. Players are able to rent out lacrosse sticks for the season.
Boys LaCrosse

SPARK Boys Travel Lacrosse

Our Boys Travel teams will compete in the NELAX league with teams from Nebraska and Iowa. The season will run from March through May.

Boys Travel Team Equipment:

In boy’s lacrosse, while body checking is allowed at the 14U age and older, incidental contact is present at all ages. Here are the equipment options your player will need for boy’s lacrosse. Please note that younger ages and some programming may alter this list.

Girls LaCrosse

Girls to SPARK Girls Travel Lacrosse

We intend to field (based on registration) 2 Girls Travel teams covering the following ages (U12-U14) and (U14-JV High school). We will need to determine placement based on registration numbers and U12 and U14 may be combined into U14 or U14 and High School into JV High School. Prior to registering please email lacrosse@siouxfallsymca.org to express your interest to play. When we have enough players to participate we will let you know so you can get your USALacrosse memberships activated.

Girls Travel Team Equipment:

Girl’s lacrosse is the same sport but an entirely different game from boy’s lacrosse. The field dimensions are different, the balls are different, the rules are different, and the equipment is different from the boy’s game. The only thing that is the same is the goal. Below is a description of the equipment needed for girl’s lacrosse.

Goalies have additional required equipment which can be provided Sioux Falls Lacrosse.
