Tri State Basketball Tournament
2023 dates and information coming soon!
Each year, hundreds of boys, grades 2-8, come together for an amazing twenty-four hour mega-tournament. Players come from all over the tri-state area and locations beyond.
In 1930, A.S. Andy Anderson started the first tri-state tournament with 16 teams from Des Moines, Aberdeen, Plankinton and Sioux Falls playing in the Friendly Indian, Pioneer and Comrades divisions. There were 112 boys and young men playing in the 1-day tournament in one gym. Today, the tournament has teams playing in gyms throughout Sioux Falls and the surrounding area. The games are played in less than 24 hours with the boys participating in a tradition that has grown to the biggest and best basketball tournament in the world based upon Athletic Sportsmanship and Christian Fellowship.
Each team this year is guaranteed to play three games (forfeits or byes are considered a game). Brackets can be broken into several different formations to fit the number of teams registered and competition level.
- For boys in grades 2nd-8th grade.
- Registration is 150 for the first 10 players and 10 dollars for any additional players.
- We will be utilizing church gyms and Sioux Falls School district schools around Sioux Falls this year for the tournament.
- 3-point contest on Saturday in between the morning and afternoon games.
If you have any questions about the tournament, please contact Nicole Bissell at email@example.com or call (605) 336-3190ext 4757.
