YMCA Out-of-School Time Programs

Helping Kids Learn, Grow, and Thrive Beyond the School Day

The Sioux Falls Family YMCA is proud to provide high-quality out-of-school time programs for youth throughout our community.

Our team is committed to meeting the needs of the whole child by creating safe, engaging, and enriching environments where students can build relationships, explore new interests, and develop skills for lifelong success.

YMCA-led programs help students:

  • Stay active and healthy
  • Build confidence and character
  • Develop positive friendships
  • Explore STEM, arts, sports, and enrichment activities
  • Receive academic support and homework assistance
  • Connect with caring adult mentors

More than just a place to be after school, YMCA Out-of-School Time programs help young people discover who they are and what they can achieve.

Our Partnership with Community Learning Centers

The YMCA serves as a Community Learning Center provider in partnership with the Sioux Falls School District. Alongside other community organizations, we help deliver quality out-of-school time programming at elementary and middle school sites throughout the district.

Each Community Learning Center follows a unified operating model focused on:

  • Youth development
  • Family engagement
  • Academic enrichment
  • Healthy living
  • Community connection

This collaborative approach allows students to access quality programming directly within their school communities while strengthening connections between schools, families, and community partners.

FAQs About Y-Club Programs

Strong Kids

For many families in our community, the cost of camp, child care, or youth sports means having to tell their child, “Not this year.”

The Strong Kids Campaign helps change that answer to “yes.”

Your gift, in any amount, helps make sure a family’s financial circumstances never determine whether their child gets to participate.

Together, we can open the door for more local kids to join a team, attend camp, build confidence, and find a community that believes in them.
